Our elevation must be the result of self-efforts and work of our own hands. No other human power can accomplish it. If we but determine it shall be so, it will be so.

Martin Delany

XYAYX EQUITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Expanding Access Through Educational Equity

The XyayX Institute is committed to making high-quality, African-centered, STEM-focused education accessible to students and families from a wide range of economic backgrounds.

The XyayX Equity-Based Tuition Model was established to expand educational opportunity for students and families who face economic, educational, and social barriers to accessing quality education.

The Institute recognizes that historic and contemporary inequities, including segregation, discriminatory policies, community disinvestment, unequal access to educational opportunities, and other systemic barriers, have contributed to persistent disparities affecting many communities. Through its Equity-Based Tuition Model, The XyayX Institute seeks to increase access to rigorous academics, STEM education, leadership development, and culturally relevant learning experience

Understanding Our Tuition Tiers

The XyayX Equity Tuition Program uses a tiered pricing model designed to make high-quality, African-centered, STEM-focused education accessible to families from a variety of economic backgrounds. Tuition tiers are determined using household income and household size, recognizing that families with different financial circumstances may require different levels of tuition support.

Families are placed into one of five tuition tiers, with lower-income households generally qualifying for lower tuition rates and higher-income households paying a larger share of the standard tuition cost. This approach helps expand access to educational opportunities while ensuring that the Institute can continue providing rigorous academics, specialized STEM programs, student support services, and enriching learning experiences.

All tuition tiers represent reduced pricing levels established by The XyayX Institute and are not direct scholarships or cash awards. Tuition rates are calculated on a per-student basis, and each student's tuition is assessed individually based on the family's financial information and available program capacity.

Important Notice

The XyayX Equity Tuition Program is an institutional tuition-pricing model designed to increase access to educational opportunities for families from a variety of economic backgrounds. The tuition tiers represent adjusted tuition rates established by The XyayX Institute and should not be confused with external scholarships, grants, or direct financial awards.

Families may also be eligible for external educational funding programs such as the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship, ESA+, or other approved educational assistance programs. When applicable, external funding is applied first toward a student's tuition obligation. After all external funding has been applied, the student's assigned Equity Tuition Tier is used to determine the family's remaining tuition responsibility.

Family Financial Responsibility

Families are responsible for meeting all financial obligations outlined in their Enrollment Agreement and Tuition Contract.

Parents and guardians should understand that:

  • Tuition payments are due according to the selected payment plan.

  • Late payments may result in additional fees or administrative actions.

  • Scholarship or funding delays do not automatically eliminate tuition obligations.

  • Families remain responsible for uncovered balances unless otherwise approved.

Tuition and fees may be adjusted periodically based on program costs, staffing needs, facility expenses, and program expansion.
